Alyson Murphy joined Cornell University in July 2023. Alyson holds a master’s degree in School Counseling and has worked with youth for over twenty years, including at-risk youth, abused and neglected youth, and youth with disabilities. After moving to the Ithaca area in 2009, Alyson spent a number of years as the Aquatics Director at the YMCA of Ithaca and Tompkins County, and her responsibilities included running the Y’s very large and successful swim lesson program. Alyson brings with her the skills and knowledge of running a large youth program in a high-risk environment and is committed to helping improve the safety of programming for minor children at Cornell.
As the Youth Protection Manager, Alyson collaborates with all program directors and student organizations to navigate policy and develop plans and training to manage risk and ensure effective, safe programs for youth.

Paula Griffin joined Cornell University in September 1993. She has worked for various schools and departments during her time at Cornell University, including Cornell Outdoor Education, Johnson Graduate School of Management, Risk Management and Insurance, and Compliance and Risk Services. The knowledge and experiences she has gained over the years at Cornell University have provided on-the-spot problem-solving resources and superior customer service to the Cornell Community.
Paula works to monitor program compliance with Policy 8.8 The Protection of Minors and Abuse Reporting and is the point person for third-party athletic programs and internships.
